1. My Venture Concept is a service to get College athletes the compensation that they have deserved for a long time. I believe that there should be a system to where Student athletes should be able to market themselves and allow them to receive compensation from companies that use them as endorsers. After NCAA championships, the NCAA puts out advertisements for merchandise and uses the players as those who are on the commercials and the ads to buy the official gear. The players get used but to not see any of the money that the NCAA and the schools are making. I think this would be a good way to get the schools and the NCAA along with the athletes involved to find a solution to this problem. People want to point to scholarships as forms of compensation, yet most teams do not have full scholarships. Baseball is a sport where there are 35 players on the roster and 11.7 scholarships to hand out. There needs to be a plan in place that allows these athletes to get as much out of their worth as they can. Not every Student athlete gets the chance to play professionally. This would allow those who do not go to the next level to maximize their worth at the collegiate level.
2. The feedback that I received was that the readers could tell I am very passionate about this subject. Thy also noted how there will be some difficulties that will come about with dealing with each athlete individually and helping them be able to properly work with the companies that they will be marketing with. I believe that this plan will gain traction and will continue to be at the forefront of the media sports debates for a while.
3. I changed this by noting how there are athletes who do not go pro and do not receive full athletic aid to help with school. I think that it will be important to get the lawyers and the NCAA and the companies involved to be able to hold up the standard and make sure it is ethical in what they are doing. I think working with the major media companies will be something that can help me out and bring this to fruition.

30A- Final Reflection
After Reading through my posts, I truly believe that networking and interviewing people for different reasons will be the most important thing in the future when I look back. These people that I added to my Human Capital will continue to be there as aides and people who will keep pushing my idea forward. This is something that Is near to me personally so I plan to continue pushing this forward and finding a solution to it. I am proud of myself for being able to find different ways to make this work even though there will be continuous threats and difficulties. I think that I was able to think my way through different challenges and that is something I am proud of.
I do see myself as an entrepreneur. I see myself being able to think through problems and continuing to try and find new ways to get my ideas flowing. I love to find new challenges and that is a big part of being an entrepreneur. You will have to take risks and deal with failure. I know realize different things that are very important for the entrepreneurs to continue to make their companies grow.
I would recommend to stay on top of the work. It is easy to push back the assignments until the last second but they take time. It is also important to get the creative juices flowing even when there is a roadblock in finding ways to push the company and the ideas forward. Networking is vital so starting that process early and often is needed to be successful in promoting and starting up a company. And lastly, a company can get started with just one idea. The next big thing can come from a small idea. So take something you are passionate about and run with it.

28A- Exit Strategy
1) While my idea is not a physical product, I do feel that it is directly related to entrepreneurship and what we have learned in this class. I do not plan to sell my ideas or leave the Director board of what my opportunity brings. I do plan to stay with this and see it through the end. With my idea of working with the NCAA, and local businesses o get athletes to be able to market themselves in return for monetary compensation, is one that will continue to be a debate until there is a final decision made on this and the problem is solved. I do believe that this is something that will take a lot more people and a lot more time to fully come to fruition. I plan on continuing to fight for this and continue to bring top level people in the industry on my side to push this forward.
2) I just want to get justice for the athletes and let the schools, the conferences and most importantly the NCAA to treat the athletes fairly and not use them for their own good. I want to see this through and be a voice in the future for the athletes that will continue to be treated as employees without any compensation from the NCAA.
3) I do feel like it had influenced my decisions regarding this opportunity. I am fully invested in this and that has influenced me into wanting to find every problem with the concept that would require me to continue to work for it. I have been able to think about other ways to make this idea work and have interviewed people and networked with people that can help me make this happen and expedite the process. This is something that will require a lot of people and time so being fully invested and finding ways to improve the little things is very important. I plan on continuing to network and build relationships with people in the sports industry, entertainment industry and lawyers who will be able to work with this and run with it.

27A- Reading Reflection No 3
Steve Jobs- Walter Isaacson
1) Steve Jobs was the founder and the CEO of Apple. He died in 2011 after fighting pancreatic cancer. What surprised me about Steve Jobs was that he was basically ousted by Apple as the board of directors sided with John Sculley, who Jobs brought on. This happened in 1985 and he was brought back to the company in 1997. He stayed with the company until he died. what I admire about Steve Jobs is that he was always pushing to create something innovative. He was not one to really settle after Apple made so much money. He was always trying to improve the technological world, which he did. I least admire how Jobs was not involved with his family and his daughter for a long part of her early life. IT is hard to balance the career he had and a family life, but at least to me, I think that family is the most important thing and the career takes a backseat to that.Yes, This entrepreneur faced many failures. The Apple products did not all come to fruition. There were many prototypes and different models of the computer that did not work before they made the first model that was sold. He was faced with adversity when the company he co-founded parted ways with him. He continued to develop technology and later got back to Apple.
2) Steve Jobs took a lot of risks when it came to Apple and starting this business. The computer industry had yet to explode and there was only a few systems in place that really lead technology at the time they created the Apple I computer in 1976. Steve Jobs did not know how it was going to sell and if this was the career path they should take. It is a very difficult business to get into and be the top of the food chain in, but he took the challenge head on and Apple became one of the most prominent companies in the world.
3) It was confusing to me how the actual power struggle went between Jobs and Sculley which ultimately lead to Jobs leaving Apple. I am not sure exactly what entailed the beef with them two and the other executives.
4)I would ask Jobs if he ever envisioned Apple becoming what it is today with all of the technology and products? This would be a good one to know because Apple has come out with items that we did not know we had a use for until they came out with them. Another Question I would ask him would be " If he could do one thing over again in the beginning stages of the company what would it be?" I feel this would be a good question because it is easier to look back and see what you could have done better.
5) I think Job's definition of hard work was to keep pushing forward. You cannot stay stagnant in any line of work, but especially in technology. It adapts and so do the people who are involved with it. I do share this opinion. You need to work hard to stay ahead of the curve and continue to work on the product and continue to make it better.

26A : Celebrating Failure
There have been multiple times this semester I have failed. I have failed in the classroom and out of the classroom many times. One time in particular was earlier in the semester in one of my classes. I had the first exam of the semester in an important class and did not do well on the exam. With not getting the ideal grade on the exam, I set myself up for a long road back to a passing grade by the end of the semester. It was a class for my major and in order to stay on track, I could not drop the class and had to pass it with at least a B. I did not study as much as I should have as I was caught up in practice starting and thought that the exam would be easy. Turns out it was not easy and I did not do well on it at all. Hard to fix your grade when you get less than a 55% on an exam.
What I learned from this is to never assume an exam is going to be easy and go in unprepared. I went in thinking that it was going to be a piece of cake and did not look over any of my notes. It would have helped to go through my notes for at least a little bit as those who studied said the exam was just like the study guide. I learned that It is harder to get a grade back up to a high level when you start the semester from rock bottom. Also, it is important to work hard and attempt to get yourself out of a hole when you are in it. Dropping the class after that exam would have been the easy way out. Continuing to study and do my work and working hard to get back to a grade that is now passing is a lesson that I am glad I learned.
I Think failure is a great thing. I think that you find more about who you are as a person, student, athlete, or employee when you fail rather than when you succeed. Everyone is happy and celebrating when they succeed, but when you fail, it shows that you have room to grow in all aspects. When I am playing baseball and I fail, which I have many times before and will many times again, I get a chance to look back at what I did wrong and can get better. Like I stated before, Everyone celebrates the successes, but to me the successes are how you rebound from the failures and how you hit back when your back is against the wall. It is very hard mentally when you fail over and over again, but finding a way to finally get what ever it is to click and continue to strive to figure things out, is a great feeling.

24A- Venture Concept #1 (Student Athletes or Employees?)
My Venture concept is
a service to Student Athletes across America. As someone who is a student
athlete, I think that there should be a method in place to protect the athletes
and their personal brand. I believe that they are being used by the NCAA and their
universities to bring n money for them and they do not get a chance to receive
any form of compensation. I am bringing forth the idea that student athletes
should be able to market themselves and make money off their own likeness.
After an NCAA championship, the first thing shown is a quick video of the team
and then an advertisement to go buy the championship merchandise. They use the
athletes as the main source of their ads to bring in revenue from their
performances. In professional sports, athletes are given a percentage of their
jersey sales. Why can't a college athlete who arguably has a more rigorous
schedule than a pro, make money off their own likeness.
Pro athletes have an
off season that lasts months. College athletes do not have an off season. Many
sports have workout programs, and basically two seasons a year. Baseball plays
approximately 70 games including postseason in the spring and will go through a
two month fall season. Football goes from august until early January in their
main season. they have a spring football season that requires the same amount
of time and grind while they are on the field. The Athletes do not receive
compensation for their time they give to the universities.
Athletes on college
campuses are required to take at least 12 credits to be eligible with most of
them taking 15 a semester. These 5 classes can be challenging and hard to
manage on their own. A regular student takes around the same amount but for the
most part besides jobs or other issues, the classes are their main focus. Being
a student athlete, you have to deal with all of the class work and be at their
sport for over 30 hours a week a lot of times. It is difficult to manage and
that is why it is so hard and rare to be able to balance both. It does not give
the athletes enough time to go get a job or find a source of income.
Now, people may say
that the athletes are being compensated by the scholarships, the food they are
given by the team, or that they get to be professional athletes after they
graduate. Not every sport is a full scholarship sport. Baseball for example, is
given 11.7 scholarships to field a team of 35 guys. Most baseball players are
on partial scholarships and many are not getting athletic money. Softball gets
12 scholarships at a fully funded university. Football and basketball are
sports that are full scholarships as is women’s volleyball and tennis. These
athletes that are not given full scholarships have to find ways to pay for
rent, schooling, books, and food.
The target audience
for this idea is the NCAA and the local businesses who will be able to use the
the athletes for marketing purposes. I believe that the opportunities are to be
controlled with what kind of companies can the athlete be endorsing or how much
can they earn. Some may think that recruiting would change and it would but at
the end of the day, the best programs will get the best players if they can
provide these business opportunities or not. Alabama will get the best football
players and it is because of their rich history of winning and tradition and
not because they can give someone an opportunity to work with a local restaurant
to make a little more money.
I think that there
would be many people who would support my initiative and help push this
forward. The media exposure would be the most important piece of the puzzle to
getting this out in the open more and more. National media outlets like ESPN
have already been talking about this debate and it is something that is needed
to be talked about to ensure that the athletes are being taken care of. With
what is next on this issue is to get more to the media and get-well known
people to talk about this. If there are prominent business people who are not
athletes that feel strongly about this, and keep pushing it forward, then it
will help the cause. This is an opportunity that while it must be controlled, has
the ability to be a drastic change to college sports. To me it is important to
fight for this an continue to get exposure out there so that there s no more
debate just fairness and justice being brought to the athletes.

23A- Unfair advantage
These are my top 10 best resources for my venture
1. Experience: Being a student athlete has given me the experience to know exactly why they should be compensated for what they bring to the university. I have been through the day to say grind that athletes endure and can continue to bring knowledge to the higher ups when it comes to talking to the NCAA or local businesses. This is rare because in comparison to the population, only a small percentage are student athletes and very few people have gone through the day to day things student athletes go through.
2. Passion: This issue is one that hits home for me and is one thing that I will continuously pursue until the issue is taken care of. I truly believe that as time goes on and people keep pushing this, the issue will be resolved. I am one that fights for something and will relentlessly push until it is completed. I think it is rare because many people are half in on things they are working on or what they are doing. It is not easy to compete with someone with a lot of passion for an issue as they will never back down.
3. Statistics: There are many stats that prove that the Universities, Conferences, and the NCAA make money off of their athletes. With the NCAA bringing in over $1 Billion dollars a year based off of their sports, shows that people are buying tickets at a large rate to go see athletes play. Ticket sales are a major factor in revenue. People do not go to games to watch the million dollar coaches, the referees or the announcers. They watch the players perform. People will turn into a game on TV to watch the athletes play and the rating show that. This is rare because there are few corporations that make this much money off of their "Employees" and do not compensate them.
4. UF: Being at a major University like Florida, it gives me a platform that those at smaller schools do not have. I can bring together student athletes and form leadership groups to push this idea the the AD and those who work with the Athletic Administration. They can provide me with insight from the other side and why the NCAA is hesitant to solve this issue now. This is non substitute because there is a small amount of universities that bring in as much money as UF with our fan base.
5. Networking: I honestly believe that this issue will be solved when more people get involved and continue to fight for the justice of the student athletes. I know many student athletes, current and past that have the same opinion as me on this issue. With being in the position I am in, I have the chance to meet a lot of people in the community, and get people on board with me. I believe my networking ability with people who have been in my position is rare because we have gone through the same struggles and want to help the people in the future.
6. Media Exposure: This debate has been one of the most prominent issues among the media. From National media outlets like ESPN, and Fox Sports to local outlets like Gator Country and others have chimed in on this debate. The media helps push forward ideas when they are important. This is a major issue in college sports and I think that with the media already exposing this, it is rare and non-substitutable in the fact that we do not have to start from the bottom, but can continue to get more people involved.
7. Financial Backing: This venture will have to be brought forth to the NCAA and people involved with Lawyers and it will cost a lot to ultimately get it resolved. I believe that with the national coverage it has and will continue to get, people with money to help out, will back us as we push this forward. If everyone who shares the same ideas gets together to help fund this movement, It will continue to gain ground. Money drives everything and with the NCAA bringing in the type of money they do, it will certainly be hard to fight against the big dogs in the industry but can be done if many generous people continue to back and fund this.
8. Wide variety of local businesses: The back bone of my idea is that the athletes should be allowed to market themselves and make money off of their likeness. I think this would be the best way as hourly ages and baseline compensation would be hard to spread out. College towns and major cities would absolutely want to be able to use local college athletes to market their brand and products. Here in Gainesville, there are a lot of local places that would make money for their company if they could use a Gator Athlete as an endorser. The companies would most like be willing to get involved and work out a way for it to be controlled in order to keep it legal. This would also save the companies and athletes from getting in trouble for receiving free stuff from them under the table.
9. Wide Market: This idea is not just to make people in Gainesville be impacted by it, but the goal of this is to be Nationwide. I think that it is a rare item that can be of impact to those effected at one time rather than specializing in a market locally then trying to move region to region. Working with advisers across the country and other athletes involved at many different schools, would help widen the market and get this issue fixed at one time. This is a rare element to my idea, it will be something that we will not have to work hard on advertising because it is one that is on the mind of many already.
10.Partners working together: One of the best things for a company and people pushing an idea is that they are all working for the same goal. In this case, There will not be people focused on the daily sales of a product, but would all be focused on working with the NCAA and the athletes to make sure that they are being taken care of legally and within the guidelines set. Everyone would be working with the two sides to ensure that everything is squared away. There is no equity in this company but rather the joy and pride of getting justice for the athletes that have made a lot of money for the NCAA and their respective schools. The local companies would want to be working in unison with us so that they can continue to use the athletes and not halt the progress that will be made with this issue.
I think the Top resource is the Media Exposure. Getting the media involved and talking about this issue makes it more of a household debate and gets people interested in this. When we can bring forth our idea to the top of the media industry and possible get the legal system involved, we will be able to have a strong case in our favor. The media will help us if they keep pushing it. With as many people involved as possible, we can finally get things straight and start working with the athletes.

22A Elevator Pitch 3
https://youtu.be/f4RipPtdsIs
On my last pitch I got feedback that I was passionate about my topic but it was important to touch on the issues that may happen. I was told that wearing a Florida Athletics polo was a good thing to do because it added credibility that I am close to the opportunity and it is something that would impact me. This would show that I have a lot invested in this. I think that I was more fluent with my speech and had fewer mix ups in what I am saying which shows that I am more prepared and confident in what I am telling my audience.
In this elevator pitch I focused on more of the problems that might occur if this opportunity gets passed. A lot of the feedback I have received throughout the semester was that there would be many problems within the athletic departments if college athletes were paid. I touched on how recruiting would be impacted. Teams that are at the top of college sports often get the best players. They offer them better opportunities to get on a bigger stage and further their careers in their respective sports. Adding he incentive to get paid may bring players to where they have the best marketing opportunities. A star recruit may also go to another place where they can be the star of the show and stand out. I feel that it was important to touch on these issues as I move along with this opportunity. I also felt more comfortable in the camera and more confident talking about the topic and being more prepared.

21A- Reading Reflection No.2
- How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams
1. What was the general theme or argument of the book?
I chose to read the book titled How to Fail at almost Everything and Still win Big by Scott Adams. The General theme of this book was to give motivation and make people know that they can achieve things in the work place and in life if you keep at it. There are times where things are not going well or failures happen. That does not stop the person if they fight through it and keep working towards the result they wanted.
2.How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
I truly believe that one of the biggest components to being an entrepreneur is being persistent. Many times ideas fail and they do not become instant successes. This book is all about continuing to work through the failures of life and business. We have learned in this class that it is important to work hard and have an idea and fight for it. This book is exactly that.
3. If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?
If I could design an exercise based off of this book, I would give the class a fake career with an opportunity that the business was trying to promote. I would give them the progression of the opportunity and then tell them that there was a major problem that occurred with it. It would give the students an opportunity to figure out a way to overcome the problem and create a successful opportunity for their business.
4. What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?
My biggest "aha" moment was learning about how to achieve desired results by setting a system not a goal. When goals are not reached some people get down and see that as a failure. When a system is in place to achieve the results, it sets the person up for more success. In the book it mentioned that setting a goal to lose 20 pounds by a certain date sets the person up for failure if they do not reach it. By saying that you are going to eat healthy for a period of time is a system. The results will come form the system. Not the goal.

20A Growing Social Capital
1. For the domain expert in this field, I interviewed my friend Jackson who is now in professional baseball. I chose to interview him because he as left the NCAA regulations and has the opportunity to market himself and make money off of his likeness. This is the same industry ad the NCAA, in pro sports, that allows their players to take advantage of their platforms for the benefit of themselves. I think that he would be a great asset to have because being a former player in the NCAA, you can say more things to the media and companies about how athletes are treated in the NCAA. As a pro, he said that the schedule of a student athlete is more rigorous and time consuming. He added that looking back on it, there were a lot longer days and more things on the agenda than in pro ball. He has access to different brands and different markets that would be a great add to my plan and this opportunity.
2. One person that would be an expert in my Market would be my father. MY dad has started up businesses from the ground and built them into very successful businesses. Currently, he owns and operates a business that helps with getting more accessible exposure to sporting events nationwide. These events like high school games, youth games are designed to help the parents and others get the opportunity to watch and support from any location via streaming. He would be able to help me market this plan because of all the connections he has with big media markets. The best thing for this opportunity would be to gain exposure and popularity. Getting big time networks in the media involved would have a big impact on my opportunity. He is helping me with out any catch as this opportunity is to help a wide variety of people rather than just me.
3. My supplier in this market would be the Director of baseball operations,Buddy. I think he would be a great supplier for this market because if this idea passes, he would be one of the people that would be heavily involved with monitoring the access the athletes have to the companies and visa versa. He deals a lot with recruiting and other team issues and he would be the liaison between the athletes on the baseball team, and compliance who would be the representative from the NCAA. Adding him to my social capital would give me an insight on what the difficulties with the recruiting, with illegal terms of these actions that would come about and would help me communicate with the top people involved.
Reflect:
In marketing a business or any opportunity, the main objective is to get the brand out there and to get across to as many people as possible. I believe that knowing as many people as you can can help market the business but can also set yourself up for future opportunities with other companies for partnerships and mergers. I think that it was good to network with people who were different than who I have used but also people I personally know. Using them in a professional matter adds to the networking as they know other people who can link up and work together in this industry. Branching out is important in the business world and it is better to start younger in order to continue to build off of that.

19A- Idea Napkin 2
1. I am a Junior sports management major here at UF. I am also a member of the Baseball team. Being a student athlete is something that has given me many experiences. From winning a national championship to getting the chance to be involved with the community more, to studying at a great university, this opportunity has been a great thing for me. Upon finishing my sports career, I plan on going into the business side of sports whether it be player representation or working with the teams in a front office role. Knowing how difficult life as a Student Athlete is, has given me motivation to get athletes treated fairly across all sports in the collegiate level. I am involved in this situation and will be pushed to finding a solution to the problem of how the NCAA is treating its athletes.
2. The service that I am offering is one that will help the student athletes be able to earn money off of their own likeness and be able to market themselves. Athletes are used by the NCAA and the universities to sell merchandise and other memorabilia. The schools and the NCAA can make money off of them, but the athlete who is the one in the commercial or ad cannot. It is imperative to allow student athletes to work with video games, memorabilia companies, and local businesses to sell themselves. This would be the best option when it comes to this debate.
3. I am offering this service to the NCAA and the Student athletes involved. This would be a way to work it out with all parties involved to find a way to get the athletes compensated for what they bring to their schools, conferences, and the NCAA. in addition to those, the local businesses would be able to use the athletes to promote deals and their brand more. Athletes would show up for events to promote the brand. It would be useful for them as well.
4. I believe that this opportunity would work if each party got together, set guidelines and figured out a way to make this work. By involving the athletes and the NCAA to get this solution resolved, it would be one that would encounter some difficulties but would ultimately be one that could be good in the long run. I think that local businesses would pay money to work with the athletes in order to attempt to get more marketing for their own product.
5. I think that this opportunity still would be a major breakthrough for the NCAA and the student athletes. The biggest issue is that the athletes are being exploited for the benefit of the NCAA and not themselves. The athletes are subject to any ad for the NCAA and no not get a portion of that. Tim Tebow brought more money to UF than anyone while he was a student athlete here. If he could've made money off of his likeness, he would've benefited greatly. No one has figured out a way to get this to work without the repercussions of recruiting issues and other difficulties that may be apparent.
I think that these work together for this opportunity. I believe that if the right people are on board with this and fans and the media get involved with the fair treatment that the student athletes are chasing, then this plan and opportunity would be effective.
In the first Idea Napkin Feedback appeared as that there would be some difficulties in this plan. I believe that there would be some difficulties with recruiting. Teams who would be able to offer more opportunities to market themselves would get the better players and make college sports lopsided. I do believe however, that this is a way to solve this problem. Another point that was brought up was how college athletes are "amateurs". Little League players are also amateurs but they do not have a corporation making over 1 billion dollars on the athletes. Fans go to the games to watch the athlete compete. The athletes sell the tickets, the athletes are the ones who get people to buy the gear if they are winning. The NCAA makes revenue off of their athletes like they are workers with no payment towards them.

17A- Elevator Speech 2
https://youtu.be/eZK_6LRxMF4
In the original elevator speech, I feel that I did not have enough quick stats on hand to use. I think that I was a little stiff and it showed through my body language. It is important to show confidence and passion through the voice and body language. I was more prepared for this one as I researched more items to use off of the top of my head. I am very passionate about this topic as it directly impacts me and close friends. In the previous comments, my peers said that they could see my passion, which is important. They also stated that I needed to loosen up a little bit with my hands and arms. I tried to make that happen in this video. I think that I changed a little with my projection of the speech even if the words did not come out quick enough on a couple of occasions. Overall, I feel this elevator speech was more effective
18A Create a customer Avatar
These my prototypical customer with my opportunity. This is a student athlete who is faced with the problem of not being compensated for what they bring to their Universities. These student athletes has hobbies that include Video Games, hanging out with friends and resting up. They spend a lot of time training and getting stuff done for school with games and other practices so enjoys just hanging out on the off days. There are many different athletes who all look different. There are men and women of all different races and different backgrounds that come together to represent their schools in their respective sport. These athlete generally drive around scooters at the campus in Gainesville and may drive a car that they had from high school they were luck enough to bring to school with them. They come form all different backgrounds, some of them are adopted, some are with their birth parents. They all come from different backgrounds but are a big family at UF. Some of them do have kids which would make them even more inclined to want to get paid for their services. Most of them range from ages 18 to 23 but will have some outliers as their are grad students and younger students who enroll into school early. They all feel old however, dealing with injuries, stress, soreness, always being tired. These all make them feel older than they actually are.The unique thing about the student athletes are that some come from families that have been die heart Gator fans for years, and others just became Gators when they signed and enrolled to be a student athlete here.
I do feel that I am alike to this customer avatar. I am a student athlete so I understand how there are many people with different backgrounds and coming from different situations. This university and especially its athletic association is a big melting pot that brings people together from all over. I know that off days are spent resting and recovering and there is a big sacrifice of social life in season when times are busy. There is a coincidence as I am around these people all of the time and feel with them on a lot of things.

16A- Secret Sauce
These are five reasons why I have Human Capital that is different than others and stick out.
1) I believe that I have a work ethic that is above a lot of people. Ever since I was young, I was always wanting to put in extra work whether it was sports, activities or school. I think playing college sports has made me work even harder as the talent level is even and hard work separates players.
2) I believe that I am a great leader. I think that sports have helped me develop leadership skills that have allowed me to take them into different aspects of life.
3) I think that I am someone who works really well in teams. I strive when working with groups and feel that it is the best way to complete a goal. Working in group projects and together to get a common goal is something I take pride in.
4) I think that I am generally positive. I like to think about things in a positive manner and express positivity to everyone when things may be negative in that situation.
5) I believe that I am one who has my priorities in check. I know what are the important things in life to me and that sometimes things have to be sacrificed for other things.
I interviewed my parents and my three siblings on what they think makes me different than others.
1)I interviewed my dad and one thing that he said about me was that I am always in the moment. He said it was unique how I was always fully engaged in the moment whatever I was doing and whoever was around me.
2) My sister, Sarakate noted how I was passionate about things. She said it was unique about how obsessive I can get over things like baseball and other activities I am involved in.
3) My sister Jessie said she thought it was awesome how I was able to forget things in a way that was sometimes with forgetting to do things but also having a short-term memory and being able to move on from troubles.
4) Everyone's mother is forced to say something good about their kid so I had to ask my mother what was something unique about me. She said she loved how loyal I am to the people that are close to me. She said that she sees how I have done whatever is needed from family or close friends that need me.
5) My brother Ryan said he liked how focused I am. He said that ever since he can remember, I have always been able to lock in on what I am doing and continue to do that until I am finished. He has been my teammate along with brother and sees how I am in sports and in life. They both require focus and he said that was something I bring to the table.
Hearing what my family said made me unique was interesting. A lot of what they said are things that I think I bring to the table. With working hard and being loyal, I think those are things that are extremely important. I know that a lot of people have sacrificed things for me throughout the past and giving back to them and working hard for things is something that is needed. I think it was cool how they all talked about how these traits carried over from my sport and life and school and were things that are all unique in my sense. I think that although I would like to not forget things, my sister was right and saying I am forgetful with some day to day things. It was interesting to see that other people see some of the same qualities that I see in myself
15A Figuring out Buyer Behavior PT. 2
1)I decided to interview people that would be affected by this opportunity but were not athletes. I interviewed a coach, someone from the compliance office at UF and a local business manager. These people would face issues that would occur with the paying of athletes.
2) While interviewing these people, they have very different perspectives on it. The compliance worker and coach would have to work with facilitating the athletes and working with them to make sure they are properly working this rule and not making things sketchy. With the local business, they want to be allowed to use the athletes to market deals or use them as spokespeople for the company. The coach and compliance worker believed that it would be very difficult to manage the money and the athlete payment. They did, however, both agree that it would be better to work with the athletes and teach them how to be able to market themselves under rules rather than just giving an hourly rate or a salary of sorts. They think that if the athletes were working with the schools and the athletic associations, they could make it work and allow the athletes to be compensated.
3) This opportunity would be one that would be through stores and online. The businesses and companies could use the top athletes to promote things locally, but they could also use this opportunity to be in video games and promotion videos online. It is something that would be able to be through the school that it would facilitate and they would work with the athletes. The school would want to monitor and control this and not allow the athletes to handle all of these things by themselves.
4) I think the businesses would look at if the ads with the athletes made more money than if the athletes were not part of it. The school and coaches would look to see if the athletes were more focused on the business side of it rather than actually performing. There would be a time and place to where these deals could be made and all sides need to make sure that the sport and performance are what matters the most. Something that would make this a bad idea would be if there were athletes endorsing companies that should not be endorsed in college sports like beer companies, bars, and clubs. Also would be a bad idea if the companies did not make money off of them. They would not benefit from paying them if they are not making money.
5) These interviews were very beneficial. In my last assignment, I interviewed athletes that would be the ones getting the money. I wanted to get information from a different perspective on whether this opportunity would work and the difficulties with it. They gave me a perspective that was very informational and good to hear. There are a lot of difficulties that this would bring forth and the coaches and the workers for the compliance offices throughout the country would have to control and monitor. Issues as big as this one are rarely solved at one time. It would be something that would take time and failures before there is a real solution for it. Listening to the business owner gave me a source that would want the athletes to be allowed for this as they would be the ones paying for the service and it would benefit them.
7) I think that although there would be a lot of problems and difficulties with this. The alternative of allowing athletes to benefit and profit off of their own likeness would be the best solution to this. They all thought that allowing the school to control the deals between the two sides and giving this opportunity to the athletes would be better than the idea of just compensating the athletes with a salary or hourly rate. The school officials thought that scholarships were a great alternative but also realized that there are sports that do not get the same scholarships to give to their athletes.

14A Halfway Reflection
1) In order to keep up with this class, I have learned to manage my time well and be responsible. With the assignments due on Friday's and Monday's, it is easy to forget about them and wait for the last minute to do them. I learned the hard way that it is smart to start the assignments early as some of them require hours to complete. I have learned to manage my time better in order to start my assignments earlier.
2) This past weekend was a big weekend in Gainesville. With LSU coming to town for the football game, campus was rocking. Getting done with practice late in the afternoon, we had recruits coming for official visits which requires us to go to events with them. I had yet to complete my blogs for the week and did not want to do them at all. I knew that I had to complete them and could not miss the assignments. I had to put the distractions of everyone hanging out aside and go complete my work. I felt like stopping multiple times but knew it was better to complete them. What pulled me through was getting the grade for my work. The grade is important so I knew I had to complete it. I feel that this class has helped me advance my tenacious attitude. The assignments take time and with so many things going on it is easy to push them aside. I feel that working hard on these assignments early can help get them done and not worry about the deadline. IT helps you work harder to manage time and fight through distractions.
3) Three Tips:
- It is important to figure out your schedule and complete these assignments early. This will help develop time management skills which would lessen stress at the deadline and allow people to focus more on other exams or events. Being great with time management helps out with all facets of life and will be important going into the workforce.
- Being tenacious in life is something that is a necessity. When someone knocks you down or fires you, or does not invest in the company, it is not a time to quit. Being tenacious is about getting up when someone or something knocks you down. Coming back stronger is what will be the outcome from the failures.
- Having the skills to be tenacious is something that can be developed. People are born with the ability to bounce back quick, while others take more time to develop it. It will come over time. I would advise to continue to try your best to bounce back as quickly as possible and diving into something that is enjoyable so even if it is tough, you are willing to put the time in and work hard for whatever you are doing.
13A Reading Reflection No.1
Shoe Dog: Phil Knight and Nike
1) Read About the Entrepreneur
1) Read About the Entrepreneur
- What surprised me about Phil Knight is that he took a trip to Japan after his graduation from grad school, and on this trip he met a guy who ran a shoe company called Tiger running shoes. He secured the distribution rights for the western USA in this meeting. This was surprising because he got a foot in the door on this business on a trip on the other side of the world.
- One thing that I admired about Knight was that he started selling these shoes out of a van. He started from scratch and then ultimately ran Nike into being one of the biggest brands and companies in the world.
- One thing that I least admired about Knight was That he used his power to get people hired at University of Oregon. He knew they relied on his money and donations to the athletic department so he got who he wanted for AD hired.
- Yes he did encounter many adversities early on. It is hard to build an apparel brand with so much competition and a lot of brands having a hold on the market. He had to wait over a year to get the first samples of the Tiger shoes and had to get another job as well as being turned down for sales in Nike. There were times when things got tough for him, but Knight fought through them and saw his business becoming one of the top in the shoe and apparel business. Starting out with shoes he took over that market and then continued into other clothes.
2) Phil Knight took a risk when he quit his job as a CPA to run Blue Ribbon Sports which ultimately became Nike. He was tenacious in getting that interview meeting with the Tiger Running Shoes owner and became diligent in working to sell those and continuing to improve the Nike business. HE showed knowledge in getting top quality shoes made for not very much as he would have them be made in other countries even though that subject is controversial. H made this company worth billions after starting in a van.
3) What was confusing to me was did he work for Tiger Running shoes to ultimately leave that to start his own shoe company or was his original intent to continue to work for them and be a higher up with their company.
4) I would ask Knight what makes an athlete the most desirable to use as an endorser. Nike has a lot of the top athletes ever endorsing their equipment and did he originally go all in the top names or try to get lower level guys first. Another question I would ask him is " When you enlisted in the Army right out of college, Did you ever see yourself becoming the CEO of the top sports brand in the world?" Knight enlisted right out of the University of Oregon and I wonder if he always thought of running a company or going in a total different direction.
5) I think Phil Knight;s opinion of hard work was that it is needed in order to have greatness. HE is involved with sports and sees the work his athletes put in to become the best in the world. He started up from nothing and worked his way to making billions of dollars for him and his company. Hard work is vital to the success of businesses. Yes I agree with this. You need to work hard to be successful in anything. Talent can only get people so far, hard work takes that talented person to the next level.

11A- Idea Napkin No.1
1) I am a Sports Management major and a student athlete here at the University of Florida, but I am also very interested in the business world. I am interested in the business aspect of sports and enjoy looking into what goes on behind the scenes of the teams along with the playing side of the sport. I feel that I am good at connecting with people and finding solutions to problems especially associated with athletes. Being an athlete here I take it personal when issues with Student Athletes become apparent. Being a member of two SEC Championship teams and one National Championship team, I gave experiences in pressure situations and work well with teams which is very important in business. You need to be able to lead a group and make tough decisions and I feel that I bring that to the table. This business concept would go hand in hand with my career path as after I am done with sports, I want to go into the business side of it.This business opportunity would continue to be a prominent item on the agenda at that time.
2) The service I am offering is a plan with local businesses and the NCAA and universities to find a way to allow students to market themselves and make money off of their likeness. This service would provide compensation for athletes but not make it an hourly rate or make it hard to figure out how much each athlete and each sport should be compensated. allowing athletes to make money off of appearances, College video games or local businesses would be a win win situation for all involved.
3) I am offering this service to the Student Athletes across America. With this problem being so prominent nation wide, all of the student athletes will need this service. This issue has been going on for a while and I believe that this service will help these athletes who really cannot help themselves in regards to this. Also to the local businesses who would be able to use the athletes for marketing purposes.
4) The businesses would work with me and my business as it would make them money. By creating a business that will help control the athletes and help them market themselves through the different businesses, this service will be in high demand. Local Gainesville businesses would love to be able to use the Gator Athletes to sell products. The athletes would love it as well as they would finally be able to make money off of themselves instead of the NCAA exploiting them.
5) If I were to create this service and work with all parties involved, it would be a major breakthrough for the NCAA and the athletes. Right now, the NCAA markets all of the athletes in their promotions, commercials, apparel and more. The Athletes do not get the chance to use their fame or status to make money. Some athletes would be able to pay for the rest of their schooling with the money they could make from marketing deals. No one has been able to find a way to make this work and If this service would be able to come about, it would would be groundbreaking.
This service would be extremely difficult to put in place as there would be a lot of legal things that may come into play and hold it back. I think that with the right partners that this business plan could work and that the athletes will finally get treated fairly. I think these elements fit together and that working with the businesses, NCAA, universities and the athletes is the right way to go about it. Getting everyone involved and hearing all sides of it would be the best thing. This service is about allowing the athletes to make money and allow the businesses to use the local players to boost their own products.

12A-Figuring out Buyer Behavior
1) The segment which I am using for this assignment is finding Student Athletes and seeing how they go about their days to show how they deal with the time they work.
2) I chose to interview different athletes from different sports here at UF. Getting people from different people from different sports is important because each sport has their own scholarship limitations and have different schedules throughout the days and weeks. I interviewed my roommate who is on the baseball team, one of my friends on the Lacrosse team, and someone on the football team. These three sports will give me different views on what the daily and weekly timelines are for them as they go through handling the life as a student-athlete.
3) What I learned from these three interviews is that each sport is very similar, yet have a lot of different things that go on in their days that make each situation unique. Each of the athletes had to be up early in the morning ranging from 6-7 o'clock in the morning in order to go get their first workout of the day in. All of the athletes then had to go to class from 9:30 until around 1:30- 2:00. Straight from class, they all had to go to to their second workout of the day with team practices. The football and baseball practices went longer as the athletes did not get out of practice until around 6:30 if not later due to extra work or treatment with the trainers. With mandatory study hall, the athletes are required to also attend other team events and if they have a game, they will not get out until around 10:00 at night. With homework to do and other things to handle, the days of the athletes are normally not complete until around 12:00 at night and then they have to wake up the next day and do it all over again. A common misconception is that these athletes are on full scholarships and get everything paid for. The only athlete which was on a full scholarship, was the football player. Baseball and lacrosse are two of the many sports that are under scholarship restrictions and this limits the total amount of aid that each athlete can get.
4)The first solution to this problem for the athletes is that they receive some sort of compensation or ability to make money off of their sport. Olympic athletes , college or pro, can keep the money they get from winning their events, yet a true college athlete who makes millions for their school and have the same time spent working cannot market themselves or get a little more compensation. These athletes talk to other non athlete students and they have the ability to go to social events, or do homework and be done in a timely manner, or have the ability to get a job to earn money. The athletes do not have that opportunity.
5) What I got out of these interviews is exactly what I expected. I knew that these schedules for the athletes were extremely rigorous and very time consuming. These athletes go through tough day to day schedules in season and off season and they feel as though they should be getting some sort of compensation for their work. I learned a little bit more of the different teams schedules in depth and saw how they deal with what their sport requires.
6) These more in depth interviews made me even more convinced that action needs to be taken by the NCAA and the universities. These athletes have to be able to either get compensation which would be regulated, or allow them to market themselves with businesses. There is no way that an athlete has time to get a job to help with money or help pay for school if their scholarship does not cover it. These athletes are being used to make money for the NCAA and the different Universities and there needs to be a fix.

9A- Hypothesis Part 2
For this Assignment I talked to more people who were both student athletes and non student athletes. I also talked to a local business to see how and if they would use the athletes for marketing if athletes were allowed to be compensated. This subject is already one of the most debated subjects when it comes to college sports. If they were to allow compensation for athletes it would be the most talked about issue across America.I learned that the students are still split on their opinions on this subject as there are a lot of implications surrounding it. The businesses were on board with it as they would be able to strike deals with the athletes to market their product. As a local business, they would love to market someone who is so prominent in the sporting world. For example, a company like Smokin Notes, could use one of UF's most popular athlete and use them to market the new sales. I think the students are still split because it would benefit the athletes and not the regular students. People will not have a strong opinion if the idea does not directly impact them.
Inside the Boundary:
Who is in:
Inside the Boundary:
Who is in:
- The student athletes across universities nationwide
- Local Businesses
What the need is:
- To get the NCAA to implement a system in order to allow athletes to get compensation and allow them to market themselves.
Why the Need exists:
- NCAA and Universities make millions of money off of the athletes but they do not see any of it.
Outside the Boundaries:
Who is not in:
- NCAA and University officials
- Many non Student Athletes
What the Need is not:
- They will not see any of the money so they do not see a need for athletes to be paid
- The NCAA and Universities want to get the money from marketing their athletes.
Alternative Explanations:
- Many people see that Scholarships are a form of compensation, yet there are a lot of athletes who are not on full scholarships and many who do not receive athletic aid at all. It would reduce suspensions and make the players more hungry to become better if they would get more opportunities if they performed better.

8A- Solving the problem
In choosing my opportunity, I saw that student athletes need to be treated better by the NCAA and the universities than they have been. I think that a solution would be is to have the students of the conferences to form an allegiance and provide different services to the NCAA and the schools in order to get the fair deals for the athletes and that way there will be a median in which they can communicate between the execs of the NCAA and the student athletes. I think this service would provide clarification between the two parties. Although this is not a physical product, I think this is an opportunity for local businesses to be able to use the athletes to market their stores and it gives the athletes a way to make some money without signing contracts and being bought by schools.
7A- Testing your Hypothesis
1)The opportunity that I would like to pursue is that the NCAA and the Universities should be paying their college Athletes.
2) The Student athletes at the collegiate level should be compensated as they bring a significant amount of money to their Universities and the NCAA.
Testing the What: The hard part about this issue is what are the boundaries? the NCAA and the Universities need to be able to set the boundaries and set guidelines for how much each athlete should be compensated. It is hard to judge how much a certain athlete is worth to a school as each sport brings in different revenue numbers. They need to also decide whether an athlete should be able to make money off of their own memorabilia or likeness.
Testing the Why: It is important to properly treat and compensate people if they bring in profit to a corporation. The NCAA and Universities will claim that the scholarships that athletes get is enough of a form of compensation. All athletes are not of full scholarships and many do not receive enough money to not be compensated more for their roles in the university.
4) I interviewed students at the University of Florida who were Athletes and some who were not athletes. Among all the athletes, they all agreed that they should receive some sort of compensation from the NCAA or the school. They claimed that they bring in money to the school and should be Paid for it. One of the student athletes who I interviewed told me that they are employees of the NCAA and the University and that if this was another business, they would be paid for the time they spent working. They all brought up the hard scheduling of classes, early workouts and late practices and stated that the amount of time they put in is way over 40 hours a week so therefore they are full time workers. It was split on how they would be compensated whether it be a stipend of a set amount per athlete, or allowing the athlete to make money off of their own likeness and be able to sell memorabilia they have received. When talking to the non-athletes, they held a stance that they did not think that athletes should be given an extra stipend but rather be able to make money off of autographs and their likeness. I think that this is a pretty common theme to where people think athletes should be able to market themselves.
5)The opportunity of getting the collegiate athletes is one that has been big in discussion for the past couple years. When a team wins a National Championship, the NCAA puts on a commercial with an ad to buy the gear from their website. They will exploit the athletes and use their remarkable plays and performances to sell merchandise and make money. The athletes do not see any of that money. I think that when the NCAA will find a way to make this work they will be pushed to make sure the athletes are taken care of before other leagues start becoming more apparent. with talking to the interviewees, I learned that people see pros and cons from both sides. Recruiting would become more centralized to the bigger schools that will offer them more money. I see this as an opportunity for the athletes and the NCAA to be able to market them more because more athletes will be wanting to do more media work if they are able to get paid for it.
2) The Student athletes at the collegiate level should be compensated as they bring a significant amount of money to their Universities and the NCAA.
- The who: The College Athletes
- The What: Should be compensated by the NCAA and their Universities
- The Why: The NCAA and different Universities bring in a lot of revenue because of the athletes and the athletes do not get any of it.

6A- Identifying Opportunities in economic ®ulatory Trends
1) There is big trend in the amount of solar panels that are being used in the United States. I found this on ClimateSolutions.org (https://www.climatesolutions.org/bright-future/clean-energy-economy/economics-of-solar-growth). With the usage of the Solar panels going up, I see this as an opportunity for the companies of these solar energy plants to make more money and drive up the economy with renewable energy.. I think there are a lot of customers with this opportunity. There are a lot of people who want to save the nonrenewable resources and be more"green". Given those people there are a lot of customers that will jump on board and continue to boost these sales. I think that this gives more companies an opportunity to move forward with this kind of energy and continue to make more jobs and try to boost the economy with these methods. This method is easy to exploit as there is a target group for sales an continuing to use them to make more money would be easy.
I see this as an opportunity because as some of the resources for energy are running out, these will continue to serve purpose and be readily available.
2)Another economic trend i found would be to continue to make professional sports arenas and stadiums more fan friendly and engaging. I found an opportunity onhttps://www.gsb.stanford.edu/insights/five-key-trends-are-driving-business-sports , that talked about the arenas being more technologically advanced for fan engagement. I think there is an opportunity to continue to bring in fans and sell more tickets if the arenas are more fan engaging. In the period of technology prominence, people want WiFi and other forms of social media to attract them to go to the stadium. The most likely to be a customer would be any sports fan, especially those with families. They want to have their kids being entertained and not causing a scene in the game. Making the arenas more fan friendly will do that. This would be easy to exploit. The teams have the money to integrate these into the arena and would generate more with the more ticket sales.
I am interested in the business of sports and seeing this opportunity is interesting. This opportunity would be a good one.
3) For a new regulation in the state of Illinois, n effect in 2019, texting while driving could lead to enhanced punishments and even license suspension. I saw this new opportunity at https://wqad.com/2018/08/17/texting-while-driving-could-lead-to-license-suspension-under-new-illinois-law/ . I believe this is a great opportunity for people to stop texting and just drive. It is an opportunity for enhanced safety for everyone on the road. I think for this new regulation, everyone would be the customer for it. There would be more tickets worth more, and people would be safer making everyone more aware around them. This would be hard to exploit because a lot of people text while driving and they try to do so that they will not be seen by the cops. It is hard to get everyone to buy in on these regulations.
I saw this opportunity because I feel that it is an opportunity to make the roads a safer place and make the world safer by doing so. I believe that making harsher penalties would make people less likely to take part in it.
4) Another Regulation that is a great opportunity to be safer is food regulations. The FDA has certain guidelines and protocols food handlers need to follow in order to ensure safe products. I found this opportunity by seeing a study by Northeastern at https://www.northeastern.edu/graduate/blog/understanding-basics-food-safety-regulations/ . I think that thee is an opportunity for people to stop falling victim to food poisoning and other illnesses. I think the biggest customer of the new 2018 regulations by the FDA are the food consumers. This will be easy to exploit as if we can get all of the people responsible with handing the food to follow the regulations then people will be healthier and safer.
I saw this opportunity because I eat a lot of food and making sure it is safe to eat is very important. I think that by having these new regulations it will make people more likely to trust restaurants and people handling their food.
I see this as an opportunity because as some of the resources for energy are running out, these will continue to serve purpose and be readily available.

Assignment 5A- Local opportunities
There are many businesses in the Bradenton, Sarasota area and many of these businesses encounter many different problems. When it comes to strategical issues or operational issues, there are people that are doing what they can to find solutions and to make the business strive and get back to where it was. I looked up articles on the Bradenton Herald to find opportunities.
- Dirty Dining: Bradenton- area restaurants cited for rat droppings, unwashed hands.
https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3ABTHB%21Bradenton%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2018%212018/mody%3A0913%21September%2B13&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/16E6A99754F00FC8
- This Article is one that is showing how different restaurants have not kept up to the safety code, or have found different things in the restaurant that make them dirty. They write about multiple different places that may not be as clean and have had health code violations or allegations
- The problem presented is that there are many restaurants that are mainly chains that are not up to standards set by the executives. I think that they will face more problems with potentially being shut down or losing customers.
- The restaurants and businesses themselves have this problem. They face problems such as loss of customers and other issues if they do not solve these problems.
2) " Red Tide is Weaker, But still hanging around Anna Maria Island. Is the worst behind us?
https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3ABTHB%21Bradenton%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2018%212018/mody%3A0912%21September%2B12&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/16E69B5ACC2F7DD8
- This article is talking about the Red Tide epidemic that hit the west coast of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. The red Tide was pretty bad but seems to be getting better.
- The problem is that it has taken months to get the beach cleaned up and to get the water back into being safe enough to ultimately get people back in the water and being able to enjoy the beaches without a lot of fish on the shore.
- The people around the area and the Manatee County beach officials have the problem. They need to find a solution to this area.
3) "Hurricane Florence Cancels UCF's game at UNC

- This article talks about how the UNC Tar Heels had to cancel their game agianst the UCF Knights because of the hurricane hitting North Carolina this week. The game comes second to the safety of the people in the state.
- The Problem is that there is a hurricane coming and although it is important to play these games and allow the fans get a chance to see the game but the problem is the safety of the people of North Carolina.
- The people of North Carolina and the University officials have to deal with this problem.
4) "Blake Medical Center Nurses Vote to strike if They Don't get a new deal soon"
https://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3ABTHB%21Bradenton%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2018%212018/mody%3A0906%21September%2B06&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/16E4A11A573062D8
- This article talks about how the nurses at Blake Medical and other hospitals around Florida will go on strike if they do not get a new contract for them. The nurses got together and voted because they want to work out somethings within their agreements with the hospitals.
- The problem in the article is that these nurses will not work and will continue to strike if a new deal is not met. They need to resolve this issue because the nurses are important to the patients.
- The hospitals have this problem. It cannot run without the nurses and figuring out the problem and getting a new deal is important.

3A - Your Entrepreneurship story
I have been around Entrepreneurs my whole life. My father has been one himself for as long as I can remember. My dad has always been one to take challenges head on and has started up companies for many years. Being around him and his entrepreneur lifestyle has given me an inside view of what goes on and how he attacks meetings and the ups and downs of starting and running businesses.
Also, one of my best friends started a company when we were in high school and he continues to run the company and expand it. Watching him deal with balancing school and sports and the business taught me a lot about time management and dealing with the real world at an early age.
Being around entrepreneurs has been awesome and I wanted to take this class to gain more knowledge on the little things that help entrepreneurs grow. I think there is a balance that is needed between book knowledge and experience that will be able to help entrepreneurs be better in their world.

2A Bug list
- When the Snowbirds come down to Florida in the winter and cause traffic jams on every main road.
- Why do these people feel the need to invade areas that are the most busy at the busiest times?
- When there is no one in a restaurant and the service takes as long as it does when it is a packed house
- Why do they stall? If there is no one in the restaurant then the food should be there quicker.
- When Commercials in TV shows are ten times louder than the show.
- I know the companies do this so they hear the ads more but why not male it the same volume
- When people beat around the bush when telling them something
- why not Just be straight up honest and it will be better for everyone involved
- When people refuse to take blame for something when they know they did it.
- Why not just take responsibility and move on
- It bugs me when teachers put questions on exams that they said would not be covered
- If it is on the exam just tell the class and then things will be learned
- When people are on their phones while walking and continue to run into you without even looking
- Why not just be looking up when you are walking and then stop and look at the phone
- When people lie about things blatantly when other people know the truth
- Lies will be exposed so no need to self boost or anything to get people to like you
- When people do good things only for the credit
- Helping people should be self gratifying and for the interest of those being helped. Asking for credit for it is not needed.
- When you are hanging out with someone or eating with someone and they are constantly on their phones
- Why can people not just enjoy actual conversation and not be on their phone while spending time with others.
- It bugs me when people are not gracious for what they have in life.
- Why be ungrateful for things when there is probably someone wanting to be in your shoes.
- When people are in the middle of a big crowd and do not cover their mouths when they cough or yawn.
- Why cant people just cover their mouth and not make it a big scene when they cough or yawn?
- It bugs me when technology never works when you need it to like working on a long assignment or paper and it all crashes down when there are deadlines.
- Why does it seem like the companies know when you are working on a major project and it all crashes down?
- IT bugs me that the UF parking department refuse to make more spots yet continue to give out tickets and charge a lot for decals.
- Why not make more spots or charge less for decals if the tickets are so expensive when there is not enough spots for cars on campus?
- When there is no traffic at a stoplight yet it stays red for a really long time.
- With technological upgrades, sensors and other methods would be the best way so why not implement them.
- It bugs me when people use the last of a food in the pantry and leave the box or container in there.
- If the item is out, why not throw away the box so people do not get high hopes.
- IT bugs me when people talk about a subject and they have no clue what is actually going on, especially in the sports world.
- Why does everyone think that they are the best analyst for every sporting event, don't over do it and let the games be played.
- When people at a grocery store go to the express checkout with way too many items and it backs up the line for a long time.
- Why not just go through the regular line and let the people with limited items go through the express line.
- It bugs me when I go into a room when I forget stuff and then forget what I went in there to get.
- I do not know the psychological aspects of that but it wonders me why this always happens.
- It bugs me when people disrespect people who cannot defend themselves. People will talk behind peoples back but not say what they need to peoples face.
- Why do people not have enough courage to say something straight to someone and can only talk about them behind their back?
In reflecting on what bugs me I think it comes down to when people lack common sense. All of these items that bug me I think can be solved if people just used common sense and respected themselves, others, and the place they are at. There are some things that are uncontrollable and just irk me, but for the most part everything could be fixed. I believe that many other people feel the same about some of these things that bug me and if everyone gets annoyed by the same things, then it will be easier to fix and get things less annoying.
